BOUGHT FROM ITS ORIGINAL OWNER, THIS 1997 SAAB 900 SE CONVERTIBLE SHOWS A CLEAN ACCIDENT-FREE ONE OWNER CARFAX. THE CAR IS IN NEED OF SOMEONE WHO IS MECHANICALLY INCLINED OR WHO KNOWS SOMEONE WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH WORKING ON SAABS…
PAINT & BODY IN DECENT SHAPE , OUTSIDE OF SOME WEAR – INCLUDING MINOR DENTS, SCRATCHES AND SOME PAINT FADING ON THE HOOD. CONVERTIBLE TOP IN GREAT SHAPE AND APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN RECENT YEARS.
INTERIOR LEATHER DOES SHOW ITS AGE. UPON START UP SOME DASH LIGHTS DO SHOW – SRS LIGHT, CHECK GEARBOX LIGHT, WARNING LIGHT TO CHECK INFO SCREEN AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROLS WORK- ALTHOUGH AC COMPRESSOR DOES KICK ON- DOES NOT BLOW COLD ? BOTH POWER SEATS MOVER FORWARD & BACK, THEY DO NOT RECLINE OR GO UP OR DOWN ? POWER TOP PARTIALLY WORKS- REAR TRUNKLID OPENS AND THEN “HANGS” UP / TOP DOES NOT GO DOWN ? DRIVERS SIDE OUTSIDE MIRROR IS MISSING.
2.0L TURBO STARTS RIGHT UP AND SETTLES TO SMOOTH IDLE. I’VE DRIVEN THE CAR PERSONALLY. ONCE FIRST PUT INTO GEAR – IT RUNS, BRAKES, SHIFTS, DRIVES & TRACKS GREAT…. AFTER A COUPLE OF STOP LIGHTS, IT’S A LITTLE SLUGGISH TO GET MOVING ( MAYBE TURBO LAG? ) . FRONT TIRES APPEAR TO BE RECENTLY REPLACED…. LEFT REAR TIRE HAS SOME WEAR… BRAKES FEEL GOOD.
