The Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 is a red-blooded American muscle-car. It’s a dose of raw performance from one of the most admired names in automotive tuning. The Shelby Mustang has proven to be one of the most consistent
investment grade
collectibles over the last 30 years.
While ledendary Carroll Shelby tuned many notable cars with Ford, the Shelby GT350 lives on as one of the originals and perhaps the most desireable for long-term investments.
What Shelby did in 1967 was to start with 2+2 fastbacks fitted with the 289 V8 rated at 271 horsepower. Shelby then massaged it with an aluminum high-rise intake manifold, Holley four-barrel carburetor, Tri-Y headers, and a glasspack dual exhaust system. Ultimately he created the classic muscle-car that produced 306 horsepower and 329 ft-lb of torque.
In 1967, the Shelby factory made just 1, 175 GT350 Mustang Fastbacks. Very few geniune Shelby GT350s are on the road today.
This incredible high-striking ’67 Fastback is listed in the
Shelby American Registry
and is refinished in its original Dark Moss Green and benefits nicely from the rotisserie restoration with virtually no expense spared.
VIN#67210F5A1261
is a California car, built in Ford's San Jose production facility.
All mechanical parts were thoroughly inspected, replaced or restored. The Shelby Cobra engine is no exception in that regard. Futher decoding using the Ford Serial Number 7R02k178558 we know it is an original Shelby 2 door Fastback model with the 289-4V High-Performance V8.
The Shelby Serial Numbers 67210F5A012161 also tells us it sports the C-4 Automatic trans. It retains the factory black interior as indicated by the Shelby number.
It was originally equipped with the following features:
Shoulder Harness
Extra Cooling Package
Courtesy Light Group
Sport Deck Rear Seat
Power Disc Brakes
Power Steering
Interior Decor Group
Heavy Duty Battery
Tachometer and Trip Odometer
According to the
Marti Report
, this Shelby was built on January 31, 1967 and released on Feburary 2, 1967. It was one of 527 with this exact factory paint code and one of fewer than 400 that had the same engine and transmission codes. One of only a handful with this equipment and color combination.
This Ford/Shelby warranty service engine features all correct internal components displacing 289 cubic inches and developing 306 horsepower, exactly the same performance seen in 1967. It is mated to a Ford automatic transmission.
Drivability is as good as it was in 1967 when the car was new. It handles extremely well, idles beautifully, and accelerates with a sense of authority like any real Shelby should. The C-4 trans shifts remarkably well and the disc brakes stop quickly.
It's a well-optioned GT350 Fastback from 1967 in every regard, just check out those in-board Shelby lights! The factory odometer shows 89904 miles.
The paint finish is also notable and many hours of time and labor went into creating the original factory Dark Moss Green, a true frame off restoration. The undercarriage as the photos depict is just as original and clean. The award-winning classic car facility, Family Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, inspected the car thoroughly and attest to its remarkable condition.

About Factory Correct Cars
BlueChip Motorcars periodically offers classic cars that may be listed as Factory Correct, or Numbers Matching. Because there are many opinions about the term(s) used to describe these types of listings, allow us to explain how BlueChip Motorcars comes to that assessment.
As you may know, depending on the source, the term “matching numbers, or factory correct, ” may mean many things to many people. Purists might define it as a car with every possible window crank, dash knob or even every nut and bolt is original to the car from the time it left the production line. Although some classic cars do exist in that rare condition, most do not.
The majority of classic cars on the market were at some point in their ownership, restored or repaired with NOS parts (new old stock) or licensed reproduction parts. Whenever the information is available to us about the use of these parts, BlueChip Motorcars will gladly pass it along to the potential buyer.
BlueChip Motorcars uses the term Factory Correct or Numbers Matching only to distinguish a vehicle where the engine casting code corresponds with the VIN and Cowl Tag code. If these codes tell the same story about the car in question, BlueChip Motorcars then considers it to be a Factory Correct or Numbers Matching vehicle. However, unless otherwise stated, the transmission, rear end, and transmission may or may not be original to the car.
BlueChip Motorcars welcomes all potential buyers to verify all the information with a qualified expert. We would be happy to email you all the numbers that are obtainable on any vehicle where the term Factory Correct or Matching Numbers is used.
