Description:
Vehicle was purchased at estate sale. Was previously begun restoration 12 years ago, but owner died and his widow was selling it. I had extensive work done on the brakes (including new calipers, pads, etc. Now having purchased 2 Austin London Taxis, I no longer have time enough to finish them all (I'm 78), so I'm letting this go.I will answer any questions I can, just ask. | “Restoration started 13 years ago, never completed due to death of owner. Bought from estate in April of 2015. I had brakes overhauled with new Calipers, pads, etc. Started to continue but have bought two Austin London cabs and have no room for it now).Too many projects and the Taxi's have got in front of it(now I find I probably won't because of my age (I'm 78.) This is one of the first year Spitfires when they had NO smog stuff etc. I had a couple of these in my younger days, and they were very spirited before they hung on all the smog stuff, extra weight, ect. In their later years they wouldn't hardly get out of their own way. The entire car is rust free except for surface rust. I was getting ready to paint it before I got the Austin Taxis so now I guess it must go (no room in the Inn). Decided to sell and let new owner choose color (was British Racing Green) Have top bows, but top is rotten. It's in non op Status. Have clear title & can be driven Anywhere. No back fees due.” |
