Up for sale is a 1967 Triumph TR-4 that would be a great starting point for a vintage race car build or as a nice parts car. I purchased this TR-4 a few years ago with the intention of setting it up for vintage racing, but unfortunate circumstances and other projects have forced me to change my plans. With no reserve and a low starting bid, this TR-4 may be your ticket into vintage racing or provide you with those missing pieces you have been looking for on your own TR-4 project.
Vehicle Details:
BodyClean with no large dents or damageNo deep body or frame rot with only minor rust on the rocker panels
A replacement fiberglass rear valance panel is included to fix the current panel
Many of the trim pieces are included but not all are present
Convertible top frame is included but not installed.Front windshield has been removed, but will be included with the vehicle.The front bumper and overriders have been removed but are included.InteriorThe interior is pretty much gutted minus the dash frame and pad along with the steering wheel.I have a box with some of the original gauges, switches, etc.There are no seats with the car.
Engine and Drive TrainThe engine is not running and I do not know if will need a full rebuild or a minor re-fresh. I had intended on rebuilding it in full race prep
This TR-4 has the stronger and less complicated solid axle rear end as opposed to the IRS rear end. It is preferred by many for racing. There were no odd noises from the rear axle when moved.
The transmission is the standard 4-spd version (no overdrive).Original steel rims with chrome hubcaps.
The tires will hold air and there is a tow-bar attachment currently installed (can be removed) however I would strongly recommend not flat towing the vehicle. The vehicle is located in Raleigh, NC and will be sold with a North Carolina Title which I have in hand. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and loading of vehicle or any necessary shipping arrangements. I do have a good friend who specializes in the transportation of vintage/classic vehicles and can pass along his information if desired. I will accept cash, a certified bank check, or wire transfer of funds. The vehicle and title will not be released until funds have been exchanged.
