1973 Triumph
TR6, Excellent Original Car, See Video, No Reserve
You are viewing
my 1973 Triumph TR6. I am the second owner of the car. Originally purchased on
Long Island just a few towns from where I live now.
This car is
truly for the English car collector enthusiast. It has been garaged, properly
maintained and pampered for its entire life. I have owned this car for the past
8 years, it has been insured with collector car status and used as a limited
mileage weekend beach trip car. It has never been performance modified or gone
through a restoration to bring it back to life from a neglected ownership. A
true time capsule, almost impossible to find these days.
The new owner
of the car will not be disappointed. This is an excellent true survivor example.
Read on for a more detailed description of the overall condition of the car.
See the video below for a test drive and walk-around.
The body is in bone
stock original condition. It has never been involved in any sort of accident.
There is no rust through on any part of the chassis or sheet metal structure, all the body panels are exceptionally straight and are in perfect alignment. There
have been no spot paint repairs, and needless to say, not an ounce of
bondo. There are very few blemishes from
daily use such as parking dings and road paint chips. The Pimento Red paint
finish has a light patina, put it is all original and holds a nice shine.
The interior is
in fantastic condition. There are no rips, open seams or tears on the seats or
panels. The original wool carpet is in excellent condition. The dash/instrument
panel is excellent, there are no sun stress cracks on the top surface of the
dash panel. The instrument panel is solid walnut stained and top coated with 20
coats of hand polished (by me) urethane. All gauges are in excellent working
condition. The convertible top is in like new condition.
There are now 71, 493
genuine original miles on the clock. The engine starts right up with no smoke
or oil consumption. It idles smoothly with no unusual noises. Oil pressure
holds steady and high when fully warmed up. The car runs and drives very well.
The 4 speed transmission engages smoothly and quietly in all gears. Suspension
and steering are very solid with no rattles or wheel shimmy.
Over the years
I have done tasteful mechanical upgrade to enhance the drivability including, 100 watt halogen H4 headlights, all new hydraulics (brake& clutch), ansa
sport exhaust, mikuni carburetors, new radiator and re-curved mechanical
advanced distributor.
I have tried to
include as many pictures to depict the true condition of the car. Please e-mail
if you have specific questions. Please keep in mind that the car is 43 years
old and although excellent condition for its age, due to normal wear and tear, have
realistic expectations for a vehicle that been in service all these years.
This car is
being offered in a no reserve auction with a very modest starting price. Please email and I will promptly assist you
with any questions you may have. Please read the good and bad in the
description above. I will make myself
available for anyone requesting a physical inspection
Terms
The winning bidder must confirm bid with a $300
non-refundable deposit within 3 days of close of auction. The balance is due
within 10 days. This car is sold as-is where-is. Local buyers are always
encouraged to inspect in person before bidding. If you would like to have
the vehicle shipped, let me know and I can make arrangements with your vehicle
