Description:

The Triumph TR6 is a British six cylinder sports car and was the best-seller of the TR range built by Triumph when production ended in July 1976. A total of 94, 619 TR6s were produced. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the TR5, but the front and back ends were squared off, reportedly based on a consultancy contract involving Karmann. This is referred to as a Kamm-style tail, which was very common during 1970s era of cars. All TR6 sports cars featured inline six-cylinder engines and Lucas fuel injection. This car also features a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive - a very desirable feature giving drivers close gearing for aggressive driving with overdrive available on 3rd and fourth gears, yet long legs for open motorways. This TR6 also features semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15-inch (380 mm) wheels and tires (which also come with vehicle), pile carpet on floors and trunk/boot, bucket seats, and a full complement of instrumentation. Braking was accomplished by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. A factory hardtop also comes with vehicle. The TR6 construction was fundamentally old-fashioned: the body was bolted onto a frame instead of the two being integrated into a unibody structure; the TR6 dashboard was wooden (plywood w/ veneer). The TR6 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 120 mph (190kmh) This is my dream car that I have to let go. It's been a project for a few years. The car runs and starts. All you have to do is body work, rusted frame, upholstery, conv. top, tires and hardware. If you spend about $4, 000 on the restoration you'll have a really nice collectible or sell for a profit. I've seen them go for $12, 000 on ebay finished. Of course showroom finish can go for twice that amount.Again, CAR NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. So look carefully at the pictures. Front chrome bumper is good. Rear one is dented. I'm compiling a complete list of what I've done and what the car needs. The car would also be good for parts for anyone restoring a Triumph TR-6. The pictures speak for themselves. Also video avail. upon request. New gas tank New muffler Needs carbs rebuilt New battery Needs breaks Engine starts Needs convertible top and hardware Needs tires

Again CAR NEEDS A LOT OF WORK, but if you have the time/place its a great deal. Many useful parts for another project. Very motivated right now since I don't have a place to keep it. So offers are welcomed. The car would also be good for parts for anyone restoring a Triumph TR-6. The pictures speak for themselves.
