1956 Jeep M38 1A Military offered here is a clean, rust free vehicle which is rare to find. The mileage may not reflect actual mileage. It runs and drives very well and with very little TLC and cosmetic attention, has the potential to be a real nice Army/ Navy Jeep for parades and shows or for a lot of serious off road fun. These vehicles are built to access terrains that none other vehicles can given their war time utility needs. The 4 cylinder engine and low torque tranny, these can get in and out of the most treacherous tracks. | “This is a 1956 Military M381A Willys Jeep which has lived in the dry Arizona climate and hence totally rust free. Some minor surface rust where the paint is scratched. There is no rust in the tool box under the seat and on the cowl. Dry as can be. No rust or damage on the underside and everything looks original panel. The paint appears to be original to the best of my knowledge and observation. The vehicle possibly was a US Navy vehicle but I do not have authentication to prove that. It drives very well and everything on it works including 4X4 , electricals ( wipers not connected but should work) etc. with no mechanical issues. Engine and transmission run real strong. I have some maintenance receipts from previous owner. Needs soft top but has the frame and nice doors for the same. Roll Bar too. Good glass. This is an excellent Jeep to do an easy restore by painting and putting on period accessories etc and make it into a nice original. Can be inspected in Phoenix, AZ by appointment.” |
