Here's a really nice 1960 Rambler American Super two door, with factory continental kit. This car came into my possession from a good friend who felt he owed me some money and sought to retire the perceived debt. He has been stricken with Parkinsons disease and can no longer drive it so it has come to me. He loved this car and through his many years of ownership spent a lot of money on it. I have the clear and signed over California title for the car in hand.
This car has a beautiful body that is very straight. It has very nice color sanded and polished adobe/ metallic copper paint. The pictures here don't really do it justice. There are NO dings or dents in the body (not one!) the stainless trim is nice, the chrome (bumpers) are original and reasonably good too, they're not pitted or peeling, but have the usual scratches and small dings typical of usage. The interior is all original and needs some attention, but it isn't terrible. Visors are a bit tattered, headliner has a small tear, and door weather stripping needs renewal, seating is good and the 60/40 split front bench seat reclines down into a bed!
This car was sold new here in Sacramento, and is rust free with no accidents. It is powered by the well regarded flathead six, coupled to the manual 3 speed with overdrive that works. Car starts/runs and shifts good. Smooth clutch takes up with no slipping. The electrical system, and lighting is in working order, but the radio requires some work. The car stops straight, with brake work having been done in the not too distant past. It has new BF Goodrich touring radial tires on slightly wider rims, and it sits and looks really nice, lowered with the slightly smaller front and larger rear tires. I also have the original rims, with matching decent tires and a set of stock hubcaps, factory workshop manuals and some spare parts too. It has a brand new radiator, starter, new shocks, rebuilt carb etc. This car has been sitting with minimal usage for some time since coming into my possession, with only the occasional start up and run around my cul de sac, I'm surprised by its performance, -it isn't slow. I think a going over of the car and it's systems, before doing any serious driving is a good idea and it is sold as is where is with no warranty, I strongly encourage your, or your agents inspection. I'll try and answer any questions you may have about it to the best of my ability.
