Here we have a 1974 MGB/GT. It is the last of the chrome bumper cars. What is so nice about this car is the body. It has no rust anywhere. The rockers, doglegs, floors and lower fenders are all rock solid. I'm not sure, but they may be original and not replacements. This car was stored for over 20 years and before storage, the engine and transmission were removed for a rebuild. While we don't know how much work has been done, it's evident some has been done. The engine looks to have been taken apart and worked on. How much and to what extent we don't know. The transmission is the non overdrive and shifts fine. There are still lots of work to be done to this car, however, if your looking for a nice project with a rock solid body, this is what you want. The suspension has been converted to tube shocks which is nice. The rest looks ok. The interior is Autumn Leaf and will need to be completely redone. The dash does have a split on the top. All the gauges are there and hopefully all work. It will need carpets or rubber mats and the seats recovered. All the glass is intact and only has light scratches on the doors. The chrome trim around the trunk and windshield is very nice. All the other chrome is lightly pitted or scuffed. The car has wire wheels and will need new tires as these have been on the car a while. Not sure of the brakes as the master cylinder is not installed. There is NO sign of the infamous MG crack of doom. BGT's were not as prone to have them anyway. Like we said, we can't guarantee anything about the drivetrain but it's evident a lot of work has been done. It also looks as if all the body rubber and seals have been replaced. The reason you need this car is because of how solid the body is. The car was repainted at some time and in my opinion is a 6 out of 10. The car comes with several boxes of parts and needs to be installed. Most of the hard work has been done. So, if your looking for a good summer project, on a car that is going up in value, this is your best buy on the internet. We are relisting this MG because the previous buyer was expecting something else. If your in the Birmingham, Al. area, please come by and inspect it. If you have a O feedback rating, please contact us before bidding. Our phone is 205-251-5800. Thanks and Happy Bidding!
