1952 MG T-Series

MG T-Series (1952)
for sale

Price: US $11,000.00

Description:

For sale is my 1952 MG TD. This is a 25+ year old restoration which I would describe as an excellent amateur restoration which has held up very well over that time but does have chips and nicks which I will describe as best I can. It has been stored inside and not driven the past 15 years. It was not really stored properly so I have done some recent work to get it up and running again. It does have good functioning top and tonneau cover but both have some discoloration from storage partly in and out of the light. Paint has some chips. This car was originally a yellow car but the previous owner wanted a red one and repainted it (I believe it is the 80's vintage Porsche Indian Red) . Not all the creases were worked out of the fenders but the paint has good shine and no rust that I can see except surface rust on some old chips on running boards and gas tank. The chrome on the bumpers and bumper guards has some pitting especially on the bumper guards. Mechanically it is sound. I pulled the gas tank and cleaned it as best I could, rebuilt the SU carbs, rebuilt the master cylinder, and put in all new wheel cylinders, the brake shoes and drums still look good. Front left shock is bad - topped it of with shock fluid which did not help. Changed the oil. Has the old style cannister oil filter and I ordered the wrong kind so couldn't change it. It has been converted to negative ground 12v. put a new electronic fuel pump on (the old points style one was bad which is why I quit driving it). It is still flushing some rusty stuff out of the gas tank which is why I now have two fuel filters on it. The needle and seat still stick occasionally but so far have always lined themselves out. New upper radiator hose.
at the time I am listing this, I am a bit weary of working it back into shape. I am basically listing it with the bonnet still off the car while I run it and watch the carbs. I could nit pick the car to death, as it has over 25 years on the resto. Overall, it is a very attractive car, starts , runs, stops, transmission shifts correctly.
I would encourage any potential buyer to make arrangements to see the car in person. Please call with any questions. When the auction concludes I will be leaving for vacation. I honestly do not expect to sell it the first go round, but if it does I will obviously be in no great hurry to work out payment and shipping. I may be able to deliver it if needed. Title is clear Missouri title in my name. Shouldn't have to say this, but the car will not leave my possession nor will title be transferred until funds clear my bank. If and when it does sell I expect a 500 dollar deposit via paypal, but I will not take full payment by paypal unless the buyer pays all fees.
Questions by email via ebay or text message or call Jeff 1-573-837-8985
I will have the car listed on another website and for sale locally so I may cancel the auction if the car sells for my price. Thanks for looking
